PURPOSE
The Accountant participates in all areas relating to financial reporting. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, quarterly and year-end audit preparation the support of budget and forecast activities as well as bi-weekly payroll processing using 3rd party subcontractor. The Accountant will have contact with all employees including Controller, CFO and CEO, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
? Process all vendor invoices for approval and record in appropriate QuickBooks accounts.
? Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations.
? Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements.
? Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities.
? Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
? Handle personnel issues specifically related to payroll questions and issues.
? Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
? Collaborate with the other accounting department members to support overall department goals and objectives.
? Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closes and related audit requirements.
? Support budget and forecasting activities.
? Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
? Responds to inquiries from the Controller and CFO, and other company managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
? Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
? Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
? Support Controller and CFO with special projects and work flow process improvements.

Job Experience:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
. Minimum 5 years of prior accounting experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.
. Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software and reporting.
. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
. Strong interpersonal, and customer service skills required.
. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
. BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting preferred
