JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description: Responsible for one or more of the following activities: checks and verifies records, prepares invoices and vouchers, types, files, posts ledger and general journal entries and/or balances accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries. May reconcile accounts. May be responsible for a complete and systematic set of transactions in a specific phase of accounting. Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Requires basic reading, writing, addition and subtraction skills.

Experience:

o Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
o Review, analyze and reconcile unclaimed property submissions, including all supporting documentation, from escrow branches and operations.
o Review, analyze and coordinate refund requests and supporting documentation.
o Communicate with the escrow branches and operations regarding submissions and corrections related to submissions.
o Communicate with customers, escrow branches, and operations regarding refund requests and corrections related to the requests.
o Utilize various tax and legal research tools, i.e. CCH, Lexis Nexis - Unclaimed Property.
o Research and document issues as assigned.
o Other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
o Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred);
o Ability to work independently;
o Familiarity with the escrow closing process and mortgage closing documents;
o Strong computer and analytical skills;
o Strong organizational and project management skills;
o Strong communication skills, including oral and written;
o Ability to identify issues and propose solutions; and,
o Ability to work extended hours during limited busy seasons.

Education:
o Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business
