JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY span A high end family office seeks a Controller to joint their elite finance group in Wheeling, IL. This person will be responsible for a variety of personal matters and provide personal oversight of financial and accounting services to the co-owners and their family. This is a "hands on" role in which the Family Office Controller must be able to execute the duties described below as well as manage a staff and assist in personal matters. This position will report to the CFO and work closely with other departments as well as cross train with corporate accountant to assist with the business side. This position requires someone who is highly organized, has excellent project management skills, strong financial acumen, can interface with Tax CPAs and lawyers, have a good understanding of corporate tax returns, eloquent communication skills (both written and verbal), and previous similar experience of 5+ years in a closely related field. br br DUTIES: br ul
li Resolve any owner / family inquires, issues, and special requests quickly and accurately /li li Direct the accounting and reporting for all personal transactions. /li li Maintain records and accounting system /li li Closely review all expenses, including taxes, insurance, medical, education, and mortgage payments. /li li Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual personal financial statements and variance reports. /li li Manage and review all bank account and credit card activity for family members. /li li Coordinate funding requests from family members. /li li Review check writing activity at residences plus related approvals. /li li Conduct and/or review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations. /li li Oversee accounting and financial affairs of administrative staff at personal residences. /li li Review intercompany billing and account reconciliation. /li li Analyze, track, and report on portfolio of investments in stocks and other minority investments in private companies. /li li Regularly communicate with investment funds for various information. /li li Coordinate funding of capital calls for investments. /li li Develop and implement controls, policies, and procedures for the Family Office. /li li Provide on-going fiduciary guidance to the owners' trustees. /li li Provide financial, planning and analysis services /li /ul
br JOB REQUIREMENTS: br ul
li Required Experience. /li li Bachelor degree /li li CFP, CPA, and/or MBA a plus, but not required. /li li At least 5years of experience working at a high level in a Family Office or similar "high touch". /li /ul
