IBM Accounting has the responsibility to accurately record the company's financial performance using General Accepted Accounting Principles, IBM Accounting Practices and Local Statutory Principles.
Professionals working in this area are involved in some or all of the following activities: accounting for complex business transactions, advising the business on technical accounting matters and performing financial performance reporting and analysis.
In this ACCOUNTING PROJECT MANAGER role, you will perform a unique and integral role as a 'trusted business advisor' by influencing key business decisions, supporting internal as well as external client facing operations and contributing to IBM's business results.
Your will be focus on implementing the new lease and revenue accounting standards.
You will collaborate closely with the IBM financial reporting accounting team on General Accepted Accounting Principles, IBM Accounting Practices and Local Statutory Principles and provide guidance and support to various IBM functions.
You will be able to work with various accounting functions across the world and PwC. You will be able to stay current on the IFRS and FASB updates. Have opportunity to interface with senior executives in accounting.
This role will move to Armonk, NY in early 2017

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Minimal five years as a CPA
* Has strong knowledge of accounting theory and strong analytic skill and create solution or recommendation for process improvement
* Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
* Good problem solving skills and ability to influence and collaborate across different functions
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written across multiple levels within organization, geography and external auditors
* Applied skills in using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint)
