Job Description Accounting Specialist

Accounting Specialist Provide timely and accurate support to the finance department and others as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Keep track and process accounting and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data

Prepare and send out bills, invoices and bank deposits

Billing responsibilities include:all aspects of the billing process, recording receipts into billing system, maintain accounts receivables and prepare monthly reminder statements of overdue accounts and prepare other financial reports as needed

Verify billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients billing issues

Facilitate swift payment of invoices due to the organization by sending bill reminders to outstanding accounts

Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status

Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors

Additional responsibilities as assigned


High School Education or GED required

1-3 years of experience preferred

Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally

Excellent customer service skills

Proficient use of applicable technology (Microsoft Word and Excel)

Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities

Possess general math skills
