The ideal AP/AR Expert will have competencies in basic accounting principles and practices and an understanding of general ledger administration. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
? Processes accounts payable/receivable invoices and employee reimbursements
? Ensures the proper documentation for payment authorization such as purchase orders and approved expense reports
? Provides administrative support for liability accruals and conducts required follow-up on disputed issues
? Applies the proper coding for transactions subject to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) including designated coding of unallowables to appropriate accounts
? Assists in general ledger closing and monitors general ledger interface
? Will be looking for discrepancies and then reconciling
? Prepares special schedules associated with period end closings
? Reviews weekly general ledger transactions for account accuracy
? Must be discreet in nature and handle confidential information in a professional manner
? Serves as accounts payable/receivable process leader for software conversions and special projects
? Performs special assignments and other accounting support as directed by the Assistant Controller and/or Director of Finance and Accounting
? Accountable for all events in the Accounts payable/receivable area
? Bachelor's degree in accounting/business administration (or equivalent business experience)
? 6+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
? Experience with Deltek/Costpoint system is highly desired
