Active Directory Administrator Position Description CGI Federal is currently looking for an Active Directory Administrator to support upcoming work for our EPA customer in Durham, NC. Your future duties and responsibilities Maintain Active Directory entries and services. Apply group and security policies. Provide Identity Management consulting and solutions. Provide customer coordination for maintenance activities Install, maintain and support Windows 2008/2012 operating systems software for all local and remote systems Design hardware configurations and conduct hardware capacity planning for Windows 2008/2012 based LAN/WAN systems Install Service packs, hot fixes and security patches on Windows 2008/2012 operating system and Microsoft application suites (Office, IE) Carry out modifications and upgrades for software/hardware on Intel systems Contribute and recommend to establishment of Intel group software/hardware standards, processes and procedures Develop and maintain backup and recovery practices and procedures which will be executed by network and production coordinators Design, implement and participate in disaster recovery procedures Monitor storage and processing capacity with attention to server performance Prepare reports on current utilization and plans for future requirements Prepare monthly performance charts and advise management on current and predicted performance and capacity problems Participate in department initiatives such as problem management, change management and contingency planning Required qualifications to be successful in this role B.S. in Computer Sciences/Programming/Math, or equivalent years of experience MCSE 2008/2012 or equivalent education and experience Solid Active Directory working experience in medium-large size Enterprise environments Working knowledge and hands-on experience of client/server architecture and data access using Windows-based and middleware technology Minimum 2 years practical experience in tuning Windows systems Minimum 2 years practical experience with Active Expert knowledge of Active Directory and the application of Group and security policy in a heterogeneous networking environments Ability to support third-party software Analyze and resolve problems that may arise during the course of normal operations Knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies such as Ethernet and protocols (TCP/IP) Must be able to clearly define problems, perform feasibility studies, and recommend new and innovative processing methods with cost/benefits analysis Troubleshoot problems and/or escalate issues and problems to team manager Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and lead technical projects Recommend system resource changes, as needed, and to accommodate future growth Meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision Follow strict change management procedures Additional Requirements: Occasionally respond to incidents that require physically working on network equipment in the RTP data center, within thirty minutes of the incident Provide 24x7 on-call support Support non-production activities normally handled during regular business hours Work on scheduled off-hours maintenance activities Must be able to successfully pass/complete a CGI background check to start employment Must be able to work in the US for an indefinite period of time Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as an effective team player Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writingDesired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Prepare project plans and ensure that procedures and knowledge transfer is written clearly using diagrams, graphs and charts and stored in a central repository Clearly define problems, perform feasibility studies and recommend new and innovative processing methods with cost/benefits analysis Practical working knowledge of network (Cisco routers and checkpoint security practices) 2 years hands-on administration of Windows network environments Working knowledge of SAN and archiving (HFS) technologies BigFix systems-management software At CGI, we're a team of builders.
