This program offers exposure to different business units as well as company-paid study time for exams, reimbursement of exam fees and the cost of study materials and seminars.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Evaluate the development of losses for various segments and lines of business in order to estimate the ultimate value of liability incurred- Estimate the future cost of insurance rates by using actuarial methods to adjust historical premium and losses- Assess the profitability of different segments of businessPotential Projects Include:
- Create new products using generalized linear modeling and other predictive analytic techniques- Analyze the results of different segments of business with an emphasis on profitable growth- Calculate future rates or expected ultimate losses using a blend of traditional and industry-leading techniques- Quantify corporate exposure to risk from insurance and investmentsPosition RequirementsRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher- Legal right to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship, now or in the future- Passed one or more actuarial exams- Strong math and analytical background- Robust internship and/or leadership experience- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Ability to adapt to new situations quickly and prioritize tasks and responsibilities- Strong experience in working with teams- A high degree of self-motivation- Willingness to develop professionally- Ability to think creatively- Intellectual curiosity- Proficiency with Microsoft Office productsRecognized as one of America's Best Employers by Forbes, The Hanover is proud to be among the top property and casualty insurers in the United States.
