As a part of Santa Monica Neurology Practice, provide administrative and patient care support to the practice. Assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge. Work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation; take phone messages as appropriate; providing Physicians with quality messages using exemplary customer service; contact patients by telephone to confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments; Register/Check-in patients by verifying patient demographic and insurance payor information; update information using the CareConnect System; review patient referral and authorization forms and complete intake information; obtain consent for treatment (COA) yearly for patients and record using CareConnect; notify patient of lab results as instructed by clinicians; triage patient issues to achieve resolution; resolve patient problems related to such matters as billing; coordination of patient tests; appointments and medical records; request authorizations for follow-up visits and ancillary testing as required ; collect payments, enter into CareConnect and CashNet systems, and prepare for deposit.
This role requires a candidate with a highly flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments. Skill in efficiently and accurately facilitating the appointment making process, including transportation arrangements and maintain sub-specialty physician schedules. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with staff from many clinical services at the UCLA Health System. Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer program. Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided. Working knowledge CareConnect system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, encounter registration system, hospital lab results and medical reports. Knowledge of medical terminology.
