Job Summary

The Administrative Analyst provides administrative, project and analytical support to the Vice President Cancer Services Finance and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Cancer Services. With a full understanding of the scope of senior leadership s responsibilities in the organization, incumbent works on assignments that are at times complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation. The Analyst also serves as back-up support to other senior administrative leaders in the absence of their primary Analysts.

The Administrative Analyst must be able to act independently and cohesively with only general supervision to fulfill the overall objective of assuring an efficient and highly organized finance and operations administrative function. Functions as a gatekeeper, understanding the requirements of the executive to prioritize issues according to urgency and to allocate time accordingly.

The Administrative Analyst is responsible for providing high level senior finance leader analysis, project and analytical support, systems access/technical administration, onboarding of staff, and to work in conjunction with and/or act on behalf of Finance administration leadership. This requires developing a thorough understanding of the practices & policies of the supported units, independently anticipating the needs of the unit, and proactively taking action to address those needs. This position must act with a high degree of political acumen when acting on behalf of finance administration, and/or engaging in activities with senior leadership. Must be an independent problem solver and be able to work and be able to work in a fast-paced high intensity environment.

The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

Required Qualifications

* College degree with five or more years of related experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience illustrating progressive career growth with a focus on administrative and project oriented responsibilities

* Requires an ability to work well in an environment that requires minimal supervision and advanced communication skills

* Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

* Project management/coordination experience

* Must be a proactive self-starter and strong team player

* Strong political acumen and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of individuals in a large organization, and handle confidential information with discretion

* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential

* Possess ability to exercise good judgment to identify and handle sensitive and confidential issues and assignments with discretion. Must be flexible and possess project management/coordination experience

* Able to work well with all levels of internal/external management and staff. Ability to set priorities and work with frequent interruptions, exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions

* The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required
