Qualifications:
Certified as either Clinical Nurse Specialist or a Nurse Practitioner in the State of New Jersey. At least two (2) years of related nursing experience preferably as an advanced practice nurse preferred. Must maintain current CPR for healthcare provider certification, Demonstrated experience in treating a diverse patient population. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director, the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) provides medical evaluations and ongoing medication treatment to patients. The specific protocols of treatment are worked out by the APN and the collaborating physician through a practice agreement. The APN provides consultation to clinical staff regarding patient care issues, and may also provide formal in-service education and training to other employees. Participates in a collegial relationship with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Performs in an expanded nursing role and has responsibility for meeting the needs of a determined number of patients using a primary care model. The APN may work in multiple programs and different sites on different days. This position requires a high level of professional responsibility, medical judgment, and ability to take personal initiative while working as part of a team.
