JOB DESCRIPTIONNorthwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a APN/Nurse Practitioner to work within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences department offers comprehensive consultation, diagnosis and treatment of a full range of adult and older adult mental health disorders. Psychiatric subspecialties in addiction, geriatrics, and forensics are also offered. This is a standard day shift. This position is 100% outpatient, though, if candidate is interested in some inpatient, something can be worked out.
The Nurse Practitioner reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
A Nurse Practitioner functions autonomously and collaborates with other health professionals to provide high quality, cost effective advanced nursing care to patients, manage health care systems and influence health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory-based practice. This role can perform all duties of a registered nurse which are considered routine.
Advanced Practice Nurse (IL) license
Advanced Practice Nurse certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APN Board.
Registered Professional Nurse (IL) license
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification
NMG Collaborative Agreement
Masters degree from an accredited school/college of nursing New APN grads accepted, however, must have education in Psychiatric Mental Health and specialize in Psychiatry.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certified is required.
