Littelfuse EBU operates in multiple engineering and manufacturing locations in Asia, US and in Europe. Littelfuse is market leader in circuit protection and sensors and innovator for passive circuit protection and offers technically superior and environmentally friendly solutions for the entire electronics industry including Automotive, Industrial, Consumer and Appliance Industry.

In this newly created position, Sr. Advanced Development Engineer will be responsible for advanced and breakthrough development projects in the circuit protection and sensor industry.

He/she has to work together with Strategic Marketing, all functions in Engineering and Corporate Technology.

The individual reports to the Director of Advanced Development.


Identify technology trends and define project topics, needs and requirements.

Work in a creative and collaborative environment to develop concepts, designs and prototypes to prove technical feasibility. Execute projects to be transferred into Product Development.

Participates in IP evaluation, writing and review of patents, and develops novel ideas. Document experimental results/concepts to support patent and intellectual property portfolio.

Work with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors to facilitate design, evaluation and qualification of advanced technology/product platforms. Collaborates with other research organizations and universities.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering. M.S. or Ph.D. degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

5~10+ years of experience in electronics industry. Work experience in technology development. The candidate should demonstrate creative thinking, keen technical ability, and a commitment to innovation. Diverse subject matter knowledge in fields such as semiconductor, hard drives, sensors, MEMS, thin/thick films and PCB. Broad knowledge of materials such as metals, ceramics, plastics, adhesives, and related processes such as stamping, molding, plating and metal joining. Hands-on experience in machine shop and mechanical tools. Has a strong track record of innovation and perseverance when facing challenges. Self-starter that can carry out tasks with minimal oversight. Able to work with multicultural and distributed development teams and drive for collaboration to achieve market leadership.


Describe the primary accountability of the position and the impact of actions. May include sales volume and budgetary responsibilities.

Revenue generated from Advanced Development projects.

Number of projects launched and on-time launch of projects with a hit rate for projects at least 20%.

Responsible for monitoring relevant internal and external IP in cooperation with product development.

Travel approximately 20% to Asia or Europe.
