This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU] Responsibilities:
? Identifying and monitoring FET transmission project process risks and controls (including but not limited to financial, operational and compliance controls) for key project processes developed during Pyramid Consulting engagement in 2016; Performing detailed analytics and developing processes and reports that support business needs ? Providing FET quality control function by ensuring controls are in compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e. SOX, FERC, NERC) as well as with internal FirstEnergy policies and procedures ? Developing self-audit programs (and related process control testing) designed to ensure controls are functioning as designed and coordinating testing; Coordinating with FirstEnergy Internal Auditing Department ? Managing self-audits and reporting results to FET management team, including recommendations for process and control improvements ? Coordinating change management functions for FET, including FET project document control function ? Interacting and developing professional relationships with various levels within FirstEnergy ? Providing general administrative, process and analytical assistance on a wide range of activities throughout the FET organization ? Analyzing control test results and identifying opportunities to correct deficiencies identified; Consulting directly with FirstEnergy Internal Auditing to ensure corrections comply with FirstEnergy policies and procedures ? Preparing detailed analysis of expenditures for Program management and Engineering vendors ? Providing staff support to management and higher levels of professionals ? Demonstrating a solid commitment to all aspects of safety ? Conducting business specific research and analyze data; Interpreting results and making recommendations ? Meeting customer needs by providing sound service and responsiveness ? Exercising sound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations to improve work processes ? Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand element procedures ? Building relationships and credibility across organization An employee hired at the Senior Business Analyst level will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner. Further, the Senior Business Analyst level employee will be assigned additional responsibilities related to those above.
Quallifications at the Advanced Business Analyst level:
? Four year degree in a related discipline, with a minimum 7 years professional work experience is preferred; an advanced degree or professional certification preferred. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of direct, related experience will be considered. The experience must be at a professional (exempt) level which also includes data reporting, analysis, costing and recommendations, along with an in-depth understanding of the subject matter. ? Must have a working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with SAP and financial system ? Must have knowledge with PC software applications including Microsoft Office Suite ? Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels, as well as with customers and external contacts ? Ability to understand and communicate process risk and control analysis ? Demonstrated analytical skills to effectively resolve problems ? Willingness to learn FE corporate Risk and Internal Auditing concepts to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, and the aptitude to learn quickly ? Highly motivated; experience working independently with a high level of productivity ? A basic knowledge of distribution/transmission operations, typical projects, accounting policies and procedures is required ? Ability to support numerous locations; Must be willing to travel throughout the service area and work extra and irregular hours ? Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and develop existing relationships ? Core understanding of applicable products and/or services and of customer needs and expectations ? Possess a sound knowledge of basic researching techniques ? Desire to continue to learn and grow, work across FirstEnergy, and deliver results ? Demonstrated analytical abilities, including problem solving and decision making ? Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines At the Senior Business Analyst level, qualifications include all of the above, plus:
