Hitachi America, Ltd. (http://www.hitachi-america.us/) is looking for an experienced Advertising & Communications Assistant Manager to lead the advertising plan (online, print, outdoor, event-related) for Hitachi in North America (predominantly in the U.S.). This includes but is not limited to the N.A. arm of Hitachis Global Brand Campaign (GBC), event management, content coordination, contract negotiations and budget management of activities supported by the corporate policies and initiatives set forth by Hitachi, Ltd.s Corporate Brand and Communications Division (CBCD) in Japan. The Advertising & Communications Assistant Manager will also be responsible for communications and coordination with Hitachis Media-Buying Agency, as well as active communication and correspondence with Hitachi, Ltd.s advertising division. He/she will also be responsible for managing and allocating Hitachis Brand Investment budget across media platforms, particularly major events such as the annual Hitachi Social Innovation Forum, as well as other Media-sponsored events/symposia (i.e., New York Times Smart Cities, Bloomberg Breakaway). Also, responsibilities would include management of the increasing investment in Native Advertising where content supervision is critical.
The Assistant Manager will also be required to facilitate and align Hitachis content and brand messaging across multiple marketing channels simultaneously. For example, utilizing content generated from events to social media to online advertising to PR/marketing outreach.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Responsible for oversight and strategic input into the media planning for Hitachis Global Brand Campaign in North America
Responsible for evaluation of appropriate advertising and event sponsorship opportunities (under guidance of the Director of BCCG).
Manage the usage of advertising campaign assets among the Hitachi Group companies at specific events and tradeshows.
Provide all necessary reporting and evidence relating to investments within the campaign budget.
Oversee all editorial content relating to Native Advertising, an expanding part of the Hitachi GBC investment portfolio working as a liaison between media content creators (editorial teams) and Hitachi Group companies to ensure accuracy of information and compliance with company disclosure policies (under guidance of the Director of BCCG).
Serve as primary liaison with Hitachi, Ltd.s Corporate Brand & Communications Division and Hitachi Group companies in relation to corporate advertising initiatives.
Responsible for working closely with Web Strategist to fully leverage social media opportunities aligned with the GBC.
Attend advertising, branding and social media-related industry conferences to gain increased knowledge and understanding of the latest best practices in advertising in the U.S. market.
Work with the Brand Communications Manager on design and branding compliance for all trade shows, events/symposia and serve as an advisor to Hitachi Group companies on any brand-related issues.
Supports Director on all new initiatives relating to investments in new approaches to advertising and social media.
B.A. in Branding/Advertising or related field.
5-7 years demonstrated work experience in advertising and communications, as well as an understanding of managing a major media-buying agency, and experience in working on events/symposia.
Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills are required, as well as ability to present detailed plans in large team meetings.
Working knowledge of the full MS Office Suite and Social Media platforms
Ability to develop corporate advertising strategic plans and objectives along with working with multiple constituencies both internal (Hitachi Group companies) and external (media companies, event management companies.)
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects under pressure and meet assigned deadlines as required with exceptional attention to detail. This customer-focused manager role will require thoughtful and creative solutions that fully leverages Hitachis Brand Investment budget and maximizes its impact.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10-20% of the time.
