Performs assigned functions of personal care and services to the terminally ill patient in their residence, under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) year's experience as a Home Health Aide, preferably in home care.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Current Texas Certification as Nurse's Aide. Current Basic CPR. Must have a current Texas driver's license with current automobile insurance.
EQUIPMENT / SKILLS:
Time management skills.
Effective communication skills.
Professional appearance and conduct.
Good observation skills.
Operation of equipment i.e., gait belt, Hoyer lift, hospital bed.
Knowledge of computer usage and word processing.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work involves continuous exposure to pleasant and unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements. May involve exposure to a variety of components that are potentially hazardous or harmful and requires exercise as well defined precautions for protection from injury or illness. May occasionally involve exposure to harsh weather and hazardous driving conditions. When working in the office works in offices, which are clean, well lit, and air-conditioned.
Must be knowledgeable of Agency policies, procedures, and organizational structure; must adhere to the policy on Code of Ethical Behavior and our Compliance Plan; must work well with all levels of Associates; must be able to remain calm in the face of irate Clients; and most importantly, must DEMONSTRATE THE CORE VALUES AT ALL TIME.
