The Aircraft Maintenance Manager s position is an integral component of PACCAR s Corporate aviation department which consists of three jets based in Seattle, WA and Denton, TX., servicing locations primarily located throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The department employs over a dozen people including pilots, mechanics, and a scheduler.
The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and control of all Company aircraft maintenance and is the liaison to Approved Maintenance Organizations performing approved maintenance on PACCAR aircraft. The Manager also responsible for ensuring that aircraft under his control are maintained in accordance with FAA part 91 requirements and that maintenance related safety goals are met. The duties responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following;
Ensure the quality of aircraft, engine and avionics maintenance and repair
Remove from service any aircraft that is unsafe or not in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the FAA or the Company s Aviation Department s Operations Manual
Maintain a program of aircraft mechanic proficiency training, reviews and upgrades in accordance with FAA and company requirements
Ensure that department personnel are thoroughly familiar with company policies, appropriate FARs, pertinent manuals, practices and publications
Maintain minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures
Ensure technical and regulatory publications necessary to perform maintenance on Company aircraft are available and that those publications are up do date and available to maintenance personnel and contractors
Act as liaison to FAA and other National Civil Aviation authorities regarding maintenance issues in all countries in which PACCAR aircraft might operate
Ensure that maintenance personnel perform their duties in the safest manner possible
Ensure compliance with Manufacturer Service Instructions, Service Bulletins and FAA Airworthiness Directives
Schedule maintenance personnel to dispatch and retrieve Company and itinerant aircraft
Manage Company FlightDocs aircraft maintenance tracking program
Oversee the completion of Work Orders and aircraft Log Book entries
Oversee Hazardous Material handling, knowledge and training
Ensure that maintenance personnel are available at all times through PACCAR cell phones and email when Company aircraft are operational
Schedule and participate in SeaTac hangar inspection and maintenance duties
Assist with development of new maintenance department policies
Assist with preparation of short and long-range planning and the annual operating budget
Supervise maintenance department employees to include interviewing and hiring, managing performance, conducting performance appraisals, ensuring staff have the proper and required training, and ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to during the hiring process and throughout employment with PACCAR.
