JOB DESCRIPTIONAIRCRAFT STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Work Location: NAWCAD Patuxent River, MD
Salary: 120K-165K with benefits! (possible relocation assistance)
Clearance Needed: None; Preferably a Secret Clearance; Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a clearance
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full Time position in support of NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD. Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, air vehicle structural components and mechanical systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, designs, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. You will apply engineering experiences to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Perform design, analysis, and documentation in support of aircraft instrumentation/modification for AID/5.2.9 Establish customer and installation requirements to develop design approaches for aircraft modification and instrumentation systems. Develop the mechanical design including the preparation of part, subassemblies, assemblies and installation drawings. Review the detailed engineering drawings prepared for a project. Direct the work of engineers and technicians who are assigned to the installation team, coordinate and plan their efforts, and provide technical liaison with the various shop personnel. Perform structural analysis on drawings/models to include finite element analysis (FEA) using Ansys structural analysis software suite.
Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in engineering or physics discipline from a school where the specified curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Minimum of six (6) years of professional engineering experience that consisted of performing the foregoing engineering functions, and Specialized Experience: At least two (2) years of the foregoing total experience shall be in the field of aerospace structures or associated mechanical systems
Structural Engineer - solid foundation in mechanical design. An understanding of aircraft structures is required.
MUST HAVE FUNCTIONAL ABILITY USING CAD SOFTWARE PTC CREO OR PRO-ENGINEER AND ONE MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ANSYS
Computer solid modeling experience (CREO, Solid Works, etc.) with parts and assemblies
Knowledge of aircraft instrumentation integration and modification
Experience creating technical data packages (drawings consisting of piece pats, subassemblies and assemblies)
Ability to create and review technical analysis reports and documentation
Experience in Design engineering
