Job Description
Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an Analyst to support the United States Army at Fort Richardson, AK.
The successful applicant shall coordinate the operational aspects of equipment fielding. Additional responsibilities and duties include:
- Review status of fielding, prepare status reports and provide USARAK liaison support with fielding analysis.
- Assess issues and draft resolutions to meet productivity, quality and unit-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring progress and for intervention and problem solving with equipment fielders, analysts and unit representatives.
- Establish forums for reviewing progress and resolve issues related to fielding and New Equipment Training.
- Assist with quality control by monitoring the development of the unit equipping database and the install yard database and reconciling differences to ensure accurate and timely information is inputted to the databases.
- Coordinate install yard projects for units needing equipment installed in tactical wheeled vehicles.
- Coordinate with property owners for space and support for install yard operations and schedule equipment installers to meet the training schedule of the gaining units.
- Draft input to planning documents for new unit activations, unit reset and transformation.
The successful applicant shall assist with managing the fielding of equipment to US Army Forces in Alaska. Additional responsibilities and duties include:
- Review shortage lists, equipment authorization documents and property accounting documents to identify equipment shortages for new units and units undergoing reset to prepare for future deployment.
- Initiate contact with Army Project Managers (PM) to coordinate a plan for filling shortages.
- In coordination with the gaining unit and the fielding PM, draft schedules for training soldiers on the new equipment and a schedule for issuing the equipment to the unit's accountable officers.
- Attend frequent meetings with the various equipment PMs and the unit representatives to facilitate successful fieldings.
- Track equipment shipments and notifying gaining unit property officers of equipment schedule.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements)
Experience Required
Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in force development related military duties or providing professional force development related management/engineering services and a bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific, business, or other field relevant to the support in which the individual is performing.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have an understanding of the processes and procedures found in Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction (CJCSI) 3170.01 “Operation of The Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System” (JCIDS).
- Assist in conducting reviews and analyses of JCIDS documents related to the functioning of the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC), Joint Capabilities Board (JCB), Functional Capabilities Board (FCB), Army Requirements Oversight Council (AROC), Army Marine Corps Board (AMCB), Army War Production Board (AWPB) and Army Requirements and Resourcing Board (AR2B).
- Have an understanding of the processes and procedures found in Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction 5000.02 “Operation of the Defense Acquisition System”, and the Defense Acquisition Guidebook.
- Assist in conducting reviews and analyses of acquisition documents related to the functioning of Cost Review Boards (CRB), Overarching Integrated Product Teams (OIPT), Study Advisory Groups (SAG) and Joint SAGs (JSAG), Army Systems Acquisition Review Council (ASARC), and Defense Acquisition Boards (DAB).
