This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FES] The FES Revenue Management group is accountable for ensuring revenue due to the company is billed timely and accurately, is collected and applied to the appropriate customer accounts and ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as well as related performance metrics. Additionally, the FES Revenue Management group is responsible for managing the daily two-way transmission of customer data via Electronic Data Interchange. This position reports to the Supervisor, EDI and is located at the West Akron Campus. Responsibilities:
- Providing a high level of service, continuous support, and proactive involvement to leadership, peers and customers - Conducting business specific research and analyzing large amounts of data; Interpreting results; Assisting in implementation activities - Monitoring Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system batch processing on a daily basis; researching and resolving all error conditions - Assisting in developing and documenting system processes for managing EDI transfers - Developing and maintaining technical competence in interpreting and monitoring the EDI process, including tracking files and data as well as the translation and rules required by state and EDC - Testing enhancements to the ABP billing system and complete supporting documentation - Creating and developing queries/reports using TOAD / Cognos / Qlikview utilizing ABP data - Ensuring data files correctly update ABP billing system and interfacing applications - Assisting in preparing ad hoc management reporting requests - Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) and other audit requirements. Developing and maintaining information and documentation required for this activity and other regulatory requirements. - Contributing to solutions by taking initiative in developing alternatives and recommendations - Actively seeking ways to build continuous improvement activities and add value within scope of assignments - Consistently anticipating and delivering against a defined action plan - Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations and requirements
- Bachelor?s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline required. Advanced degree a plus. - Minimum 0-2 years professional work experience required - Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access) - Experience with ABP Revenue Manager, SAP (Financial), CRM, TOAD/Cognos/Qlikview, preferred. Other billing system experience a plus. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operational environment - Business and Financial acumen preferred - Excellent analytical abilities with consistent attention to detail; Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while delivering quality, accurate work within established deadlines - Knowledge of various researching techniques preferred - Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Desire to continue to learn, grow and work across FirstEnergy, and deliver results - Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
