ABOUT THE POSITION:

Redesign credit and collection processes for regulatory rule changes as ordered by various jurisdictions. Develop and monitor all system changes needed for compliance.
Analyze data and activities to provide relevant and up to date information to support decision-making and the effective working of National Grid in rate cases.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

* Prepare and write relevant documentation in order that all stakeholders are fully informed and all evidence or statistics are documented.

* Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.

* Maintain and provide information such as regulatory information in order to ensure regulators and other stakeholders are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs.

* Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.

* Design and implement new processes or policies in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

* Independently collate and analyze work unit and/or financial data within one or multiple areas using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department s decision making process.

* Research and analyze key themes from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios may impact upon the business.

* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with any required regulatory responses.

* Review monthly regulatory credit and collection reports prior to submission.

* Monitor and review financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information.

* Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.

* Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to provide feedback on the appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules.

* Respond to rate cases by providing residential collections related information and prepare responses to data requests. Prepare and write relevant documentation in order that all stakeholders are fully informed and all evidence or statistics are documented.

* Develop process and policy specifications and criteria and options and evaluate those options to support senior management decision-making in the relevant field.

* Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, annual plans and objectives in order to support achievement of departmental/operational area.

* Negotiate and agree contracts with outside vendors including standards of work / levels of service to ensure best value for National Grid.

* Contribute to the identification and formulation of strategic objectives specific to area of work/business unit, in order to drive change and innovation within National Grid.

* Lead, motivate and develop a professional team, prioritize work and allocate resources in order to ensure results are delivered in line with expectations and customer/business objectives.

* Keep regulators up to date and informed in order to ensure they are managed appropriately and in line with regulatory requirements.

* Develop and utilize peer group network in order to absorb and apply technical/professional best practice within own area of specialism.

* Monitor and control allocated human and material resources, maintaining financial and progress forecasting in order to ensure projects are delivered according to schedule and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Experience Required:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

* Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practice under US GAAP and IFRS.

* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to integrate these skills with BPC. Must be able to provide timely and accurate interpretation of detailed analyses.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain and discuss issues with stakeholders.

* Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and prioritize activities in a team environment.

* Able to quickly grasp complex issues, and effectively integrate, compile, and analyze complex information and data.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

*

Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
*

3-5 years of accounting and consolidation experience.
*

Strong computer based skills to understand system functionality. Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Vlookup, PivotTables, etc.
*

Proficient in SAP BPC and BI, PeopleSoft, Business Objects.
*

Strong analytical skills
