The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management seeks an outstanding anesthesiologist with a strong interest in pursuing an academic career at the rank of Assistant Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Rank will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of anesthesiology residents and fellows, medical students, and other trainees. Opportunities are available in general anesthesiology. Positions in the subspecialties of cardiovascular, obstetric and pediatric anesthesiology, critical care medicine, pain management, and goal-oriented research occasionally occur. Consideration for appointment in these roles would be given to candidates with demonstrated training and/or experience in the field. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Candidates are appointed as Assistant Instructors if they do not have board certification at hire; continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of ABA certification within two (2) years of initial hire date.

Interested applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, a letter of interest and three letters of recommendation to:
