. Provide administrative support for Appian version 7.2
. Install, configure, and manage Appian systems and other product software in the development, test, ETL, production, and training environments
. Manage performance tuning of servers and data servers, which includes writing performance monitoring scripts as well as designing and implementing processes to communicate and publish system status
. Monitor business-process execution and data associated with those processes
. Monitor the performance of system components and transactions
. Troubleshoot product problems
. Recover the product after system outages and disaster incidents
. Administer system security and user accounts
. Report incidents and provide any additional information required to resolve reported incidents
. Define and manage user authorization and authentication for internal and external users
. Maintain Active Directory directories and security settings
. Create the file system necessary for system implementation
. Schedule and coordinate system backups with the appropriate technical teams
. Coordinate and implement the policies for the use of the Appian system and its related hardware, software, and network infrastructure
. Monitor hardware issues and coordinate resolution activities for incidents
. Perform archive activities for both data and processes
. Retrieve and distribute system administrative logs and reports
. Research and resolve assigned incidents
. Maintain secure baseline configuration for Appian installations throughout the OCC
. Support investigation and resolution of Appian platform POAMS


. Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
. Demonstrated ability using Appian BPMS version 7.2 or higher and Java programming to design, develop, implement, and maintain large, complex, enterprise-wide business process management applications, including creating and utilizing process models, data types, users, groups, rules, constants, query rules, pages, dashboards, and reports.
. Skill with installing, configuring, and administering Appian BPMS version 7.2 in a Microsoft Windows environment
. Skill with installing and configuring applications running on Appian BPMS version 7.2 to include: monitoring active process instances and restarting process nodes as necessary; monitoring application interface performance and restarting interface transactions as necessary; resolving system performance and accessibility problems
. Experience establishing user security and administering user accounts for applications running on Appian BPMS version 7.2
. Experience with Java programming and J2EE technologies
. Understanding of Appian background processes and data structures
. Experience in SQL and clear understanding of relational databases
. Experience in creating data tables and data loads in relational database tables
. Understanding of system operating systems (i.e. MS and Unix) and product servers
. Understanding of Microsoft technologies for web servers and active directories etc.
. Passing a background check
. U.S. citizenship


. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
. Technical certifications are strongly preferred, as is ongoing pursuit towards continuous learning.
. Appian Certification a plus
