Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, an international law firm with almost 4000 lawyers and staff in 28 offices is seeking a Windows Desktop Analyst for its Information Technology Department. The Windows Desktop Analyst reports to the Assistant Director of Desktop Engineering and provides third level support by handling the most difficult or advanced problems experienced in the desktop and laptop environment. This person will also support the development, deployment and maintenance of enterprise applications and integration, including a mix of commercial off-the-shelf products (majority) and some custom applications and integration components.
This position formulates/defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results, has a good understanding of the business or function for which applications are designed and/or used. Specific duties include instructing, directing and checking the work of other IT professionals in the local offices. This person may also be responsible for quality assurance review and implementation of hardware and software testing.
This position will use analytical skills to assist in the development, execution and evaluation of third party software, project plans and schedules and test plans, documentation, and application support.
The Window Desktop Analyst will become an expert at the systems assigned to them, as they provide leadership and support related to the design, development and implementation of technical solutions to business challenges. Consequently, they must also identify and resolve configuration, installation and application compatibility issues. The Windows Desktop Analyst solves complex problems, while maintaining an understanding of overall business objectives.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field;
3 plus years of related experience;
Experience with Microsoft Windows 7 and later;
Experience with Microsoft Office 2007 and later;
Programming knowledge in PowerShell (required);
Prior experience with desktop management systems and tools, such as Microsoft SCCM;
Management of Microsoft Group Policies;
Understanding of networking;
Proven understanding of the application lifecycle process including requirements gathering, analysis and design;
Analytical thinker, detail oriented, problem solver and innovator;
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
Ability to work effectively in a team and to learn and adapt quickly;
Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures;
Ability to effectively resolve problems independently in accordance with defined policies and procedures;
Familiarity with Legal industry;
Flexible work schedule to account for scheduled maintenance events and/or off hour support and problem resolution;
Certifications are a plus;
Experience with Citrix is a plus.
