Application ChemistEMD Chemicals represents the North American extension of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany for Specialty Chemicals. This position is located in Cincinnati Ohio. EMD Chemicals is an Equal Opportunity Employer This position supports the marketing, sales and technical service operation as the resource for customer support, marketing support and as an outreach person in support of our sales/ marketing actions and plans. This position requires a person who is highly skilled in Chemistry analytics and method development which can be applied to the EMD portfolio of products and must have the ability to translate these results / finding into commercial collateral. The primary responsibility is as the interface with customers and sales team members to improve product knowledge and applications through product training. This function could also serve as an analyst in the QC lab area based on business needs and areas of experience. Responsibilities include: This function will be required to work within all Safety and Quality System requirements. Performance of analytical testing and development in support of sales/marketing Investigation and/ or development of new testing methods and procedures for new and existing products to maintain state of the art processes for product evaluation and performance. Maintains responsibility for interfacing with the required operational areas and customer oriented contacts to provide required services and obtain necessary information.Creation of Sales/ Marketing information and training materials to support sales and trainingPublication of documentation, papers, to support marketing and product portfolio Maintains the communication system which meets the requirements of the organizational customers; reports, documentation, verbal and long term records to meet departmental and regulatory requirements.Maintains fiscal departmental responsibilities; operation within the constraints of the departmental budgets, allocated project costs and monitoring in the different operational areas.Meets agreed to schedules and commitments.Investigate and/ or optimize testing methods and procedures for new and existing products.Works with interdepartmental teams to meet defined objectives.Participates as a technical resource in planning for future requirements; resources, projects and departmental objectives.Maintains the necessary interfaces to monitor and establish product quality goals and to determine the new product and services requirements which will be needed in the future.Travel to customers and trade shows to gather market intelligence on the products, technologies and requirements and translate thee to product requirements.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
Education:To qualify for this position, an individual must possess a combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities.Bachelor's degree in chemistry with minimum 5 years analytical experience. Associated experience in specific required areas a plus.
