Overview:

Papa John's, the company that is a leader in ordering pizza online and by mobile apps is seeking an Application Developer II for our Enterprise Systems development team. This position allows for working with fun, cutting edge technologies combined with an ability to exercise creativity while programming in a team environment. In this role, you will develop code according to provided specifications, create technical design documentation, and develop coding logic flowcharts. You will also encode, test, debug, and document code and procedures.

What's on the Menu:

* Consult with Business Analysts group to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input/output requirements.
* Serve as a technical subject matter expert.
* Convert designs and specifications into code. Test code using structured testing methodology, confirm programs meet specifications. Document testing and ensure that the tests meet quality assurance requirements.
* Work with team members to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
* Train and assist team members in developmental skills. Ensure development standards are adhered to (i.e.coding syntax, look and feel, commenting methods).
* Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about developed software. Train internal and end users and monitor software after implementation.
* Write and maintain technical specifications, documentation to describe program development, coding, testing, changes, and corrections, installation and operation of developed software. Review written documentation of installation and operation of software.

Role Essentials:

* Bachelor's degree
* 4-6 years experience in a Web Development environment
* Extensive experience with JAVA/JAVA EE, Servlets, JSP, JMS, EJB,
* Strong experience with frameworks like Hibernate, Spring, Spring MVC, Swing
* Web Services (SOAP, JAXB, JAX-WS)
* Experience with Maven and Ant
* Experience in operating system: Unix/Linux
* Web development using HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript
* Working knowledge of web server infrastructure components such as Apache/Tomcat, GlassFish
* Experience with open source tools such as Subversion and CVS version control systems
* Message Queues (Tibco desired)
* Strong relational database and SQL skills, Oracle, Postgres
* Ability to work in a large team and independently
* Solid knowledge of object oriented techniques and design patterns
* Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns
* Java application debugging and profiling
* Ability to work under established deadlines
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Application development methodology experience (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies and packaged applications
* Technical and design documentation skills

Role Desirables:

* PL/SQL
* Query tuning

An equivalent combination of experience and training may substitute for any of the listed position qualifications.
