Role Summary

Involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of software applications. Determines user requirements, leads application design, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress. Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness. May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with other applications. Position may be a first-level manager and has direct responsibility for people management. Disciplines: Mainframe Platform, Mid-Range Platform, Windows Desktop Platform, Windows Server Platform, UNIX Client/Server Platform, Internet/Intranet (Web) Platform, E-commerce/EDI, Multi-Platform. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least eight, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of six years experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.

Major Duties

Strong leadership skills necessary in directing a team of Sr. application developers and/or Sr Systems Analysts responsible for the delivery and implementation of software application development activities for the Core ops Tower. Experience with the analysis, design, development and implementation of software applications. Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness. Communicates with other managers to coordinate integration of Tower specific projects with other applications.

Position has direct responsibility for people management. Successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to mentor technical resources and provide managerial guidance to staff consisting of Application Developers, Systems Analysts and QA Testers.

Responsibilities

- Drives the development of a Tower specific solution and impact assessment for internal and external constituents.

- Leads application design, plans technical project deliverables, establishes priorities and monitors progress of work related to a specific application or group of applications.

- Acts as a partner within Core Operations leadership across functions facilitating the development and long term delivery of the Core Ops Tower Specific solution

- Ensure that all delivery and production changes meet stakeholder expectations

- Develops process and monitors internal progress on key work elements that support the Tower Specific approach.

- Acts as a project manager for application delivery ensuring all modifications to the application stay on track as defined by delivery milestone

- Ensures consistency of designs across projects and quality of design artifacts

- Ensures system/application health meets stated business metrics and needs. Champions quality and system efficiency improvements
