Job Description

Dow Corning currently seeks a skilled technical professional capable of making meaningful contributions to the engineering, implementation, and on-going support of Dow Corning's core application & web hosting infrastructure. This includes working with a broad range of client/server applications, middleware, and web-based solutions installed predominantly on Microsoft platforms.

The successful candidate will be part of a skilled team of three analysts responsible for the overall management & support of the corporate application infrastructure layer inclusive of the Intranet, www.dowcorning.com sites and related microsites, www.xiameter.com, assorted B2B applications, application development source control and promotion processes, and an array of served applications such as Ariba, Clarity and Entropy. In this role you will have accountability for the installation, upgrade, maintenance and operating efficiency of vendor-supplier software packages for major, technically complex systems. You will provide technical guidance to others and also provide support and advice to technical staff in solving operational problems for multiple complex technologies.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
The application infrastructure analyst will also be responsible for:
* Enforcement of standards for the application infrastructure
* Supporting and promoting a consistent environment for application development
* Supporting tools to support the development and deployment of projects
* Providing support to developers regarding the development environment -
* Supporting integrations between servers and applications
* Supporting application and server configuration
* Supporting source control tool(s) and promotion

A Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related field is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of information technology experience with at least 2 years of experience supporting Wintel infrastructure in an enterprise environment is also required.

Experience installing and configuring enterprise class served applications such as SharePoint, Entropy, WEbTrends, Ariba, Clarity, Edeca, or Commerce Server is highly desired. Experience with application programming and scripting such as powershell or VBS is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate must have an aptitude for learning new technologies quickly and for maintaining that knowledge in an ever changing environment. Technical proficiency must include a broad exposure to all aspects of systems software including the implementation and support of large Wintel-based systems. Knowledge of system and application architecture and application standards is required. The application infrastructure analyst must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The selected candidate must have a willingness to work flexible hours including rotational 24/7 on-call support responsibilities and occasional work during off-hours and weekends.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
