Job Description The City and County of Denver is looking for an Application Integration Architect to join our Technology Services team. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day support/maintenance operations of the middleware infrastructure and software architecture used for designing and implementing communications between mutually interactive software applications in a service-oriented architecture environment. This position will also maintain oversight of the IT integration environment and ensure the integration strategy is in line with CCD business goals.Our Technology Services Division (IT) is using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications and operations that we deliver to our Mile High City. We enjoy progressive leadership which is creating initiatives such as Mobile Services, Web Services, Social Media and Web 2.0/3.0 technologies. Job Responsibilities Maintain a broad understanding of the existing CCD data and applications integration infrastructure and comprehends the implications of technology decisions and recommendations across the CCD integration architectureKeep current on industry trends and emerging integration technologies to evaluate and recommend those that will increase performance, reliability, cost effectiveness, infrastructure flexibility or otherwise provide value to CCDAbility to assess enterprise data architecture and developing passageways that securely and reliably transport dataResponsible for integration of future state business and infrastructure architectures in an organized and cohesive mannerParticipates in ecosystem architecture development, including business architecture, information architecture, application and technical architectureProvides guidance and leadership to IT Service Delivery teams to ensure that IT solutions that are developed are aligned to CCD enterprise integration standardsHave a cross-functional understanding of the IT architectural domains, while also having deep subject matter expertise within the integration domain, and the ability to communicate its role and importance to other IT domain architectsAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Self starter that can manage multiple tasks and effectively set priorities while responding to changing priorities from initiation through completion.Demonstrates leadership though innovative solutions, design reviews and code reviews.Ability to guide available resources to self educate on new technical approaches related to ERP, interfaces, analytics and best practices.Proficient in working with the vendor to open cases and see the case through to resolution.Identifies process improvement opportunities and leads the effort for the improvements.Knowledge of SDLC processes and best practices. Qualifications Experience Requirement: Three years of current, professional experience developing and maintaining specialized, complex business or enterprise applications.Candidates must possess the following special qualifications :A minimum of one year of experience participating in the development of enterprise data and/or application architecture standards.Experience with Application Integration architecture, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Messaging SystemsExperience in Web Services standards and technologies (e.g. XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, UDDI, REST, etc.)Preferred Qualifications: Additional consideration will be granted to candidates who possess PeopleSoft web service knowledge, Agile methodologies, WebLogic knowledge, Rest and JSON. Education Requirement: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
