Application Packager / Desktop Systems Engineer

Robert Half Technology is currently looking for a Desktop Systems Engineer that will be heavily involved in applications and related SCCM package testing. This is a contract position that will assist with the development of application mitigation plans along with creating and updating SCCM packages to ensure successful installation and functioning of applications on Windows 7. In addition, this position will provide ongoing escalated end user support during the Windows 7 deployment phases.

Primary Responsibilities
-Provide the technical expertise to package new and existing software titles for automated, unattended installation on desktop and laptop PCs through the development of necessary scripts, transforms, SCCM packages, etc.
-Test application packages to confirm full functionality, detect conflicts, and ensure successful deployment.
-Troubleshoot application installation issues (e.g. SCCM client issues, installation script issues, etc).
-Research, resolve, and respond to application and OS issues identified during the Windows 7 deployment phases.
-Provide ongoing escalated desktop level support to Tier 2 technicians as needed.

Requirements:
-Knowledge of Windows PC Operating System (i.e. Windows XP, Windows 7)
-Experience with SMS/SCCM, OSD, Task Sequences, USMT
-Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks (e.g. VBScript, Power Shell, and WMI)
-Experience creating and deploying application install packages in an enterprise environment
-Ability to perform daily operational tasks within SCCM (create Advertisements/Collections/Packages.)
-Experience managing software deployments and deployment schedules
Requirements
-Experience working in planning, deploying, managing, daily operations, and troubleshooting SMS/SCCM application packages and distribution.
