Position: Application Support Engineer

*Note: SmartMeter/ ITRON Exp is not Mandatory.
This Application Support Engineering Role is in support of the Primary SmartMeter application systems.
Applicants will be responsible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support of the MDMS and Collection Engine systems, which includes maintenance and some potential minor development performed on WinteL application servers, Oracle and SQL database(s), ITRON specific vendor software, review, analysis and reporting of the collection of meter data from the SmartMeters all the way through the SmartMeter Collection systems.
Maintenance and development of the reporting systems, ORS, SmartMonitor, WUG, etc.)
Candidate should have 10+ year IT experience
Candidate should have bachelor of science degree in Computer Science/Electrical engineering or related study, certifications and/or relevant work experience.
24/7 on-call duties may be required.
Candidate must be proficient in supporting and maintaining Enterprise (N-tier) distributed application systems.
Candidate must have experience with supporting 3rd party applications (installing, working with vendors).
Special emphasis on review and understanding of XML schema format, basic SQL script review and maintenance.
Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server DBs. Experience with SQL.
Experience w/ Microsoft Windows Server, scripting, load balancers, network routing and debugging network issues.
Security certificate a plus.
.NET Development a plus.
