Job Description

Duties
Maintains and supports existing natural resource mobile applications, develops new mobile applications and helps to facilitate new mobile application architecture in support of USDA Forest Service. Participate in architectural discussions regarding future mobile application developments including prototyping.

Specific Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and responsibilities that increased progressively over time, demonstrated through successful performance on projects of relevant size and scope:
• Strong working knowledge of C++, C#, VBScript and ArcPad API.
• Working knowledge of MS Entity Framework, T4 scripting, and the CSLA Framework.
• Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL and LINQ.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML5.
• Strong data modeling skills; proficient in working with complex data structures while understanding data modeling concepts such as business objects, constraints and data integrity constructs.
• Strong team skills; must work with a project team consisting of developers, business area specialists, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of natural resource management is helpful.
• Knowledge of ArcPad, ArcGIS Server, ArcMap and ESRI data structures

General Skills and Experience
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment under changing conditions are required
• Strong ability to assist clients with business requirements for their systems-based solutions and create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy, and solution approach
• Some travel to other Forest Service offices may be required

This position can be located in Fort Collins, CO, Sandy, OR, Corvallis, OR, or Washington DC
