JOB DESCRIPTION*Job Description and Requirements
The Senior Applications Engineer in the Technical Support & Training group is responsible for timely identification and resolution of customer issues, especially in the area of Synthesis and formal verification. AEs are expected to possess Synthesis, Formal Verification, Verilog RTL coding, and STA experience and knowledge. Experience with multi-voltage and low power designs is preferred. AEs gain comprehensive understanding of customer issues, and leverage their expertise with creative problem-solving skills to successfully resolve these issues to complete customer satisfaction. AEs may be assigned to customer sites to work closely with the design teams working on state-of-the-art projects at advanced technology nodes and will develop deep technical knowledge of the customer s design methodologies. AE duties may include product update presentations and training to customers. In order to maintain the high-caliber level of our Synthesis AE team, AEs will write and publish articles for the SolvNet database, which customers and other Synopsys engineers access to research advanced design and technology problems. AEs will work closely with Synopsys R&D to influence product definition and direction by providing direct customer feedback. They will work with the account team and take on a leadership role for driving issue resolution to ensure customer success.
BS or MS in EE or CE with 8+ years of experience in high-level design or applications engineering. Must be technical expert and have hands-on experience with synthesis, static timing analysis, and formal verification tools. Knowledge and experience with Synopsys front-end tools (Design Compiler, Formality, Primetime) is a plus. Must possess strong understanding of digital implementation tools and flows. Design experience should include ASIC design using industry-standard hardware description languages (Verilog). Excellent verbal and written presentation/communication skills are required. Customer sensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities, and the desire to help customers exploit new technologies are essential for success in the position.
