Responsible for leading others on a daily basis, writing reviews, managing performance, following processes, and servicing internal customers; all while insuring compliance with regulatory law and bank policies. Includes direct supervision of Appraisal Specialist's I/II, who support transactions typically less than $1,000,000, with a dotted line of delegated officers in other markets who support the appraisal review function. As a working supervisor, this position will focus on the ordering and review of appraisals and other valuation reports where real estate is taken as collateral for business purpose loans. Additionally develop internal values utilizing tools and resources provided in the department. Position will also manage receipt and distribution of work through the departments automated workflow solution as well as conducting routine audits in order to maintain consistent qualified products and practices.
The primary purpose of this position is the ordering and review of appraisals and other valuation reports where real estate is taken as collateral for business purpose loans. This will also include the development of internal values used strictly for internal underwriting purposes. This entails responsibility of working with bank officers and assistants to identify appropriate data for each piece of real estate in order to perform the most accurate and qualified analysis. This person will be required to use a variety of internal/external systems, templates, and data sets for research and job fulfillment through the departments automated workflow solution.
This role experiences high volumes of production and during peak time periods may be called upon to work overtime to meet various deadlines and commitments. Additionally, this role is held to a variety of service level agreements to ensure our sales force holds a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be detail oriented with a certain level of problem solving. Also requires strong personal computer skills in all standard Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with commercial systems, advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of Adobe, and experience with residential and commercial real estate and/or appraisals is ideal.
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field preferred. Three or more years of experience in commercial lending support, commercial loan documentation or comparable experience is desired. Strong preference will be given to those who have direct experience evaluating real estate appraisal reports.
Position will be located in St. Louis but supports markets and customers across the banks footprint within the Commercial Line of Business.
*\tMinimum of 2 years' supervisory experience; or combination of post-secondary education, or 5 years in related field.

*\tAssign daily job requests based on staff's level of expertise required to fulfill. Support standards for production, dealing with performance issues as required.
*\tPlan and execute regular staff meetings and facilitate training sessions in correlation with customer and/or staff development needs.
*\tAssist in the maintenance of valuation and environmental resources used to develop and document value conclusions.
*\tStrong pc skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
