The Architectural Designer is responsible for the following:
* Developing and managing A/E projects from inception through construction and certificate of occupancy
* Generation, coordination, management of construction documents for large and small new, remodel, renovation projects
* Very good understanding of building systems, construction materials /methods / techniques for new and existing structures
* General understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
* Substantial field survey experience
* Thorough understanding of, and ability to interpret International Building Codes
* Moderate to extensive experience dealing with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, contractors and clients
* Project permitting and city planning processes
* Ability to engage / manage all internal / external stakeholders to ensure thorough and complete execution and application of design criteria
* Ability to evaluate existing building designs to determine feasibility of proposed remodels, renovations and dual occupancies
* Knowledge of industry standard specification formats, and experience with which to manage specification design criteria
* Minimum 10 years of experience as an Architectural Design in retail, commercial, mall and office projects; property management a plus
* Licensed Architect a plus
The individual shall be responsible to prepare and coordinate construction documents for retail / commercial projects (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire safety, etc). Manage projects as single point of contact, interacting with client, staff and consultant teams. Must be advanced level AutoCAD operator with accomplished computer skills, and possess an advanced understanding of building components, and construction means, methods and materials. Must have extensive experience working with city AHJ's (building, planning, zoning), as well as building codes interpretation.Work with business partners, tenants and consultants to develop project design initiatives*? Research construction documents and project information of building structures to evaluate existing conditions / design concepts. Perform design / code analysis. Research / evaluate products and technologies for appropriate design applications*? Project management and scheduling, personnel assignments, and project coordination, estimating experience a plus*? Work with field / maintenance teams as necessary to determine existing conditions of building structures*? Develop designs, details and drawings, ensuring the quality and accuracy of construction documents / standards*? Solicitation / negotiation / review of Consultant contracts and Tenant lease agreements*? Review and approve tenant construction documentsEEO EMPLOYER
