JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Description/Job Summary
Calls on customers at job sites, business offices, and institutional account locations to identify and create rental service and sales opportunities. Calls on key account administrative and management personnel in offices to ensure customer satisfaction. Handles customer service issues in the field and negotiates rental contracts. Develops a thorough understanding of the market conditions (e.g. current customers, competitors, opportunities) for the assigned territory, develops and executes a strategy to achieve revenue goals. Reports directly to Region Sales Manager.
Promotes products in order to achieve assigned rental and sales revenue goals. Sources, calls on, and rents equipment to customers within assigned territory. Conducts territory analysis and planning in order to enable appropriate allocation of time to accounts and customers. Develops a thorough understanding of the market conditions and business issues including competitive activity, prospective customers, and market trends, through primary and secondary information sources for the assigned territory. Develops and executes a strategy to achieve revenue goals, as directed by management. Develops and implements strategies to gain access, gain rental contracts, and pulls through business at targeted accounts. Develops rapport with key decision-makers at accounts and end users at job sites within territory. Works with sales team to help and direct, as necessary, customer service activities and assists in handling difficult issues. May assist in collecting customer accounts. May assist in familiarizing and training customer on equipment and vehicles. Customers/Accounts: Existing new and potential customers in current and prospective accounts. Implements, sustains and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations and customer service.
Demonstrated selling and interpersonal communications skills, with excellent oral and written communication. Customer service orientation and ability. Able to work effectively as a team player, and to work independently with little supervision, using organizational and time management skills. Able to work with sales and budget forecasts; to apply effective selling practices and techniques; and to conduct productive cold calling and customer sourcing activities.
Minimum of one year of customer service experience, with demonstrated successful sales experience in rental equipment or a related field preferred.
Sales and marketing workshops, seminars and training a plus
High school degree or equivalent and some additional related training or advanced education. Bachelor s degree preferred.
Valid driver s license
Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch, kneel, and drive a motor vehicle for extended periods.
Additional Requirements: Able to read instructions, numbers and to write legibly in English. Competent in understanding and communicating product and technical information. Completes mandated safety training within 10 days of hire. Follows supervisor s instructions and works amicably with co-workers.
Equipment and Tool: Some locations may require a personal telephone for daily work, on-call purposes, and schedule changes.
