Family Circle is looking for a talented Associate Art Director to bring innovative ideas and concepts to the magazine connecting our strategy and our client s strategies. The Associate Art Director, reporting to the Marketing & Creative Services Director, participates in the creation of our brand identity and extends that identity through sales and promotional materials. This position manages primarily print and online projects, but may also be involved with video and photo shoots. The Associate Art Director collaborates with our internal marketing team on advertiser programs and manages the look and feel of all the collateral associated with the program. This person provides design services for special projects, merchandising and promotional programs including: design and production of in-magazine advertorials, high-impact units, email blasts, sell sheets, POP displays, direct mail, event signage, presentations, lookbooks, invitations, stationary, etc. The Associate Art Director also helps update the online media kit and promo site. The Associate Art Director may manage/direct vendors for print, digital, premiums and video on select design projects as necessary. The Associate Art Director will be called on to manage the Art Department workflow.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Bachelor s degree in Art or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Minimum of 4 years experience as a senior designer in publishing or advertising.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Fluent in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Keynote and Dreamweaver. Video and WordPress experience a plus.
Ability to lead projects without hesitation and work harmoniously with the sales and marketing staff.
Ability to balance great design with meeting tight deadlines.
Proven record of collaborative work on design ideas and projects as well as working independently.
Ability to accept constructive criticism as well as implement changes to design and layouts as necessary.
Ability to absorb and synthesize branding and style requirements from clients and account managers.
Extreme attention to detail and consistency of work, with a focus on composition and typography.
Must be well-organized and able to balance multiple simultaneous projects.
Good problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%
