Business Unit Overview
Pentair s Valves & Controls business is a leading manufacturer and marketer of valves, actuators, and controls solutions, providing products, services and innovation for the most challenging applications throughout the energy and process industries. Whether our customers operate in the oil and gas, power, chemical and pharmaceutical, mining, marine, or food and beverage markets, we endeavor to deliver the highest quality products and value-added services that improve our customers' business efficiency.
Under general supervision, performs equipment disassembly, visual inspection, cleaning, and movement of material within the service operations. Exhibits a good knowledge of mechanical procedures.
*Identifies orientation of valve assembly by stamping body, bonnet and cap with traceable marking prior to disassembly.
*Performs disassembly of valves and stores parts in marked bins to ensure valve to part traceability, is maintained.
*Cleans valve and parts using approved solvent, blasting and grinding methods.
*Performs basic visual inspection of major valve components identifying noticeable defects of damage and reporting them to the inspector.
*Transport clean valves and parts to assembly area and assist with assembly as deemed necessary by supervisor.
*May drive vehicle to transport stored materials from warehouse to plant or pick up items from several locations for shipment.
*Must understand and follow pertinent Pentair policies and procedures relative to all assigned duties and responsibilities.
*Must be customer oriented willing to work overtime as required often times with very little notice.
*Records as found conditions on traveler and enters into database.
*Performs pre-testing of valves prior to disassembly.
*Reviews SDS prior to disassembly, to assure correct PPE is worn during disassembly.
Job Requirements & Skills
Skill, Experience & Education:
*Education equivalent to High School Diploma or G.E.D
*Minimum 1 year mechanical experience
*Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions
Working Conditions & Environment:
*Physical tasks include walking, grasping, and carrying, lifting, seeing, hand-eye coordination, listening, writing, and speaking.
* Mental tasks include reading, interpreting, analyzing, calculating, measuring and communicating.
*Perform lifting and moving of materials weighing 50 lbs.,
* Work is performed typically indoors.
*Using hand, air tools, jib crane, test stand, and blasting equipment.
