JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Meggitt is a global engineering group specializing in extreme environment products and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defense and energy markets. We employ over 11,000 people across manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe, North America, with regional bases in India and the Middle East.
Assemble production mechanical, electrical units and associated assemblies. Lock wire, identify and make nameplates as noted on engineering drawings. Perform miscellaneous, related duties.
Job Core Responsibilities
* Assemble mechanical, electrical assemblies working to shop orders (Job Instruction Sheets), diagrams, drawings and spec sheets.
* Assemble mechanical parts associated with actuators, solenoids, coils, proximity switches and fields, etc.
* Solder assemblies
* Assemble complete units working under supervision, safety wires.
* Operate light machines, presses and name plate marking equipment.
High level of accuracy.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Customer service driven.
Able to manage multiple tasks.
Professional conduct at all times.
High school diploma or GED,
Or vocational training,
Or mechanical aptitude,
Or any combination of the above.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have manual dexterity, able to understand and follow assembly instructions, able to use various assembly and mechanics tools. Must be able to accurately and neatly record data from work performed.
Typical Materials, Tools and Equipment Used
Materials worked on: Parts and components from ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, electrical wires, safety wires, housings, etc.
Equipment used: Voltage and resistance equipment, presses and nameplate marking equipment.
Tools used: General hand tools associated with assembly.
General safety and shop safety.
Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Regularly required to stand, bend, sit, reach and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Work usually performed in a factory setting.
Occasional exposure to shop element such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, solvents.
