Strategic Intent It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will keep the guest's perspective in mind at all times and carry out the mission of the Rooms Department Scope of Position The Assistant Chef Concierge, in conjunction with the Chef Concierge, is responsible for supervising the concierge team to provide Five Star service to all guests and colleagues Organizational Structure The Assistant Chef Concierge reports directly to the Chef Concierge and assists in overseeing the concierge staff. The Assistant Chef Concierge also provides instruction and day to day coaching of the Hotel Messengers/Pages. Duties and Responsibilities Provide guests access to all New York City has to offer within scope of availability Offer a warm, sincere and personalized welcome to all guests Have an in depth knowledge or access to information regarding directions, travel time, cost and various forms of transportation Maintain a constantly updated database with extensive information about city highlights Arrange tickets for theatre, sporting events and local attractions Make and confirm all transportation arrangements with contracted limousine company Make and confirm dining reservations Provide guests with a confirmation of dining reservations, transportation, theatre tickets, etc. in the form of written, printed, or computer-generated forms Communicate information effectively to Chef Concierge Train, coach and support the Concierge staff colleagues Direct and supervise Hotel Messengers/Pages in the daily operation of the department Requirements 5 years Concierge experience Must be a member of Les Clefs d'Or Able to communicate written and spoken English Excellent overall communication skills The ability to work well in a team environment Able to stand for extended periods of time Must be professional and possess excellent presentation, communication, organization, and effective time management skills Must have very strong knowledge of the restaurants, bars, nightclubs, theatres, Broadway shows and attractions in New York City. Flexible schedules and working hours; willingness to work weekends & holidays required. Multi-lingual is preferred (ref. 48684)
