The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns and Acute Care Surgery (http://trauma.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The department is seeking an academic general surgeon with special interests and expertise in Trauma/Burn, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery. This is a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor level (Clinical Series).
Candidate must have an MD and possess documented teaching and research experience in an area relevant to Trauma/Burn, Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity by submitting a Diversity Statement of past contributions and/or future plans of excellence in this area as part of their application for an academic appointment.
This is an academic appointment which requires excellence in clinical activities, research and teaching.
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
1) Board certification in General Surgery
2) Hold or be eligible for a certificate of added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care
3) Commitment to research and education
4) Must have or be able to obtain a California medical license
Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor rank in the Clinical Series. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
