Under general direction, oversees specific aspects of a small to mid-size sports program. May provide guidance to other personnel. Under the direction of the Head Coach, Women's Soccer, the incumbent will assist with managing the team along with shared responsibility in the areas of recruiting, retention, coaching, game and practice management, monitoring student-athlete academic progress and eligibility.
Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program.
May need to maintain NAIA/NCAA certified recruiter status.
Must have effective inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively with athletic participants.
Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making, be an effective problem solver, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must have specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity, as well as basic technical expertise in coaching principles.
Maintains current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the NAIA/NCAA, as well as other associations and agencies applicable to athletic financial aid and scholarships, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Successful experience coaching at high school and/or college level.
Experience with computer programs in either the PC or Mac environment.
The successful candidate must be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background check, which may include checks of employment records, criminal records, and motor vehicle records.
A valid California drivers license with acceptable driving record is required.
