JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY New Jersey manufacturing and food company seeks an Assistant Controller
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform the monthly closing process by reviewing general ledger accounts,
preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and other analysis to support and execute the financial close
process. This position will be responsible for maintaining timely, accurate financial records and performing financial analysis. The candidate for this position must have a clear understanding of accounting guidance and processes in consumer food products.
Role is accountable for:
Processing month-end closing transactions (including analysis, creating and posting journal entries, etc. - owning entire
month-end process from A-Z)
Analyzing and reconciling assigned accounts during the month end close;
Cost-of-Goods (COGS) and Cost-of-Goods analysis
Inventory evaluation, Mark-to-market
Accurately and efficiently ensuring that the transactions for the month are properly reported and have adequate
Reconciling sub-ledgers to general ledgers and identifying and solving any issues creating variances.
Assisting with internal and external reporting;
Creating reports and analyzing data;
Assisting with development or revamping of internal controls and policies
Participating in or leading projects, as required;
Participating in internal and external audits as well as quarterly reviews;
Owning processes and working to continually improve them;
Participating in and/or leading various department and organizational meetings;
Performs other related duties as required and assigned by VP Finance.

MBA (a Plus!);
10-15 years relevant Accounting experience;
strong knowledge of US GAAP;
strong ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team and function;
Manufacturing experience (REQUIRED);
Mastery in Excel with intermediate-level skills in Word, Outlook and Access;
SAP (Preferred) (or equivalent EAS/ERP systems experience including Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft) (Ross system a
CPA (or currently pursuing) (a PLUS!)
