Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for directing and coordinating all accounting functions for the effective operation of the accounting department, will perform the full range of financial reporting and analysis as well as managing the month-end and year-end closing cycles. This position will manage a team of financial professionals based in the US and internationally. The incumbent will report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with management.
Position Duties:

Generate timely and accurate financial statements and other management reports
Manage general ledger accounting and related work flow processes for the organization
Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports
Manage the preparation of all account reconciliations and analyses
Ensure all external reporting is in conformance with GAAP
Manage annual audits
Assure compliance with all internal policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
Assist in the Company's treasury and cash management functions
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop and implement strategic plans to improve accounting practices for the company
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, operating procedures and job descriptions
Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives
Assist in the preparation of the monthly Board Financial Packet

Other duties as assigned by the ControllerCandidate Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting required
CPA required
Must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
Strong understanding of GAAP
Knowledge of automated and financial systems, Great Plains preferred
Public company experience required, with Big 4 experience highly preferred
SEC reporting and IPO experience strongly desired
Must be intuitive with excellent problem solving skills
High level of initiative and accuracy, must be energetic, highly flexible and able to work in a quickly changing environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with senior management, corporate departments and all levels of employees, in addition to outside vendors, auditors and regulatory bodies
Developed business acumen, with ability to understand the company's business and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various settings
Well versed with revenue recognition and other accounting issues that arise in commercial transactions with large software companies desired

Fluent in public company reporting and accounting standards
Must be self motivated and have the necessary ability and commitment to work as needed to meet tight deadlines
