Assistant Director, Events & Programs:

Participate in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a variety of large- and small-scale events with a development and alumni relations focus, yet target the entire university community. Serve as a resource on regional and local event development, strategy, execution and evaluation with alumni volunteers, staff and students. Collaborate with staff and students in both Alumni Relations & Development internally and external departments including Student Activities, Housing, University Events, Security, Physical Plant, Athletics, etc.

Maintain an organized approach to coordinating events and processes including registration and logistics. Use creative techniques to increase attendance and engagement as well as enhance programming. Assist with developing processes for assessment of program effectiveness and engagement outcomes. Assist in the development of event budgets and manage event-related line items. Collaborate with the communications department to market each event appropriately.

Maintain program specific calendars and timelines to coordinate University efforts in an assigned area in order to maximize alumni engagement. Use creative techniques for project management of programs and communications. Assist with developing processes for assessment of program effectiveness and engagement outcomes. Use creativity to increase event attendance and participation. Monitor, analyze and report on overall results to internal and external constituencies. Track spending and program income. Solicit and assess alumni feedback.

Perform other duties as assigned. Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.
