The Assistant Director of Human Resources oversee the daily operation of the Human Resources office. Responsible for areas of Recruiting, Employee Relations, Benefits, Events, Workers Compensation and other employee-related tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent. Four-year college degree in a related field preferred. Five years Human Resources management experience required, preferably in the hospitality industry. Excellent technology skills: Microsoft Office, HRIS system, Applicant Tracking system, and online recruiting resources. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters. Must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists the Director of Human Resources in the formulation of HR policies and procedures. Oversee the management of our Recruiting process including position management, advertising, working with community agencies, interviewing, and monitoring our Recruiting analytics. Assists with and ensures that all procedures concerning promotion, transfer and separation of property staff is carried on within property and Company policy and within legal boundaries. Provide guidance to the leadership team regarding employee morale, employee relations, coaching, counseling and discipline. Coordinate employee wellness and safety programs. Conduct research into other hotels Human Resource programs and activities and recommend changes and/or innovations where desirable. Assists in developing and conducting management training on a variety of leadership and HR topics. Assists in overseeing preparation of reports required by government agencies. Oversee Workers Compensation programs, ensuring claims and reports are submitted in a timely basis, modified duty and ensuring employees return to work. Assist with planning, coordinating and executing employee events and activities, including monthly All Hands meeting, annual picnic, holiday party, Wellness Fair, community service projects and more. Assists in the administration of the Companys social benefit program, including but not limited to the Employee of the Month program, Leader of the Quarter program, the bulletin boards and recreational and other social programs. Continually assesses employee morale by analyzing absenteeism and turnover records, lateness and resignations; by conducting exit interviews; and by interviewing employees periodically I order to ascertain possible trouble areas.
