JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Department of Computer Science at Ball State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin August, 2017. We are seeking candidates with a strong record of research and teaching experience.
Major responsibilities: Teaching courses for computer science majors, supervising graduate students, and scholarship including scholarly publications and presentation. Though we seek candidates whose areas of research expertise and interest in computer science closely align with those in the department, candidates in all areas are welcome to apply.
Minimum qualifications: Earned doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering, by August 1, 2017, from an accredited college or university; a promise of teaching excellence in teaching of undergraduate courses; demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have the ability to establish an active research program.
Preferred qualifications: A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. Teaching experience in computer science, publications, and/or evidence of other significant scholarly activity; proficiency in active learning pedagogy; eagerness to teach first- and second-year courses in computer science, including those in Programming.
