JOB DESCRIPTIONASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF HISTORY, DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
Ball State University s Department of History is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Twentieth-Century U.S. women s and gender history, to begin August 19, 2017.
Major responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of specialization as well as survey courses and upper-division courses in twentieth-century United States history. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching U.S. women s and gender history. Conduct research in twentieth-century U.S. women s and gender history.
Minimum qualifications: ABD in U.S. history, with specialization in Twentieth-Century U.S. women s and gender history, with degree completed by August 31, 2017; ability to teach U.S. history surveys, a survey of women in U.S. history, as well as topical courses in U.S. women s and gender history; must have active research agenda in U.S. women s and gender history.
Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in U.S. history from an accredited college or university, with specialization in twentieth-century U.S. women s and gender history; teaching experience at college or university level; ability to teach comparative women s and gender history; courses in the history or sexuality and/or courses in other aspects of twentieth-century U.S. history; interest in using new digital approaches that help distill historical meaning from texts and artifacts, and in new modes of presenting these in electronic formats.
