TWO ASSISTANT PROFESSORS SPANISH
University of California, Riverside
The Department of Hispanic Studies invites applications for TWO tenure-track faculty positions in Spanish at the Assistant Professor level. The positions will begin July 1, 2017. Applicants must be All But Dissertation or have met the requirements for the Ph.D. by time of appointment, July 1, 2017. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
We are seeking two complementary hires in the area of Mexico/Latino and Border Studies, understood in broad terms chronologically and geographically as well as conceptually/methodologically. Areas of interest for these positions include (but are not limited to) literary expressions of the border; Latino Studies; migration; performance studies; visual culture; bilingual socio-linguistics; creative writing; theories of border culture; gender studies.
It should also be noted that, in addition to the two positions described above, the University of California, Riverside will be recruiting this year for four new positions in a Mexican, Mexican American, Borderland and Latin Studies cluster. This is a clear indication that the University has made a strong scholarly and programmatic commitment to this area going forward (clusterhiring.ucr.edu).
