EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred. Eight years of related professional fundraising experience, with at least two years of experience at a senior level preferred. Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the seven-figure range. Raiser's Edge experience preferred.
1.In collaboration with the Vice President for Development and the Assistant Vice President of Planning & Advancement Services, refines implements and monitors long-range development goals and initiatives as part of the strategic plan for development.
2.Increases the success of UT Southwestern s major giving development program by maximizing support from alumni, individuals, foundations, and corporations.
3.Assists in strategies for major gift solicitations; accompanies major gift officers, institutional leadership, and others, as appropriate, on development calls.
4.Responsible for carrying a portfolio of prospects, submitting proposals, closing major gifts, and achieving an annual dollar fundraising goal within the funding priorities.
5.Manages financial resources in soliciting major gifts and develops written strategies for lead prospects.
6.Strengthens and enhances management processes, electronic tools, reporting, and systemization required for a large development program.
7.Provides vision, creativity, and direction to the development staff and faculty in defining the case for support and program parameters for solicitation, communications, and proposals.
8.Assists in facilitating regular prospect strategy meetings with the Major Gifts Team; prepares and monitors materials.
9.Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce teamwork and communication.
10.May be assigned to university-wide projects (campaigns) for major gift fundraising purposes.
11.Performs related duties as required and other duties as assigned.

Responsible for principal gift fundraising and assisting President and Vice President for Development in securing gifts of $5 million and above.
